Porcelain Veneers

  • Creating perfect smiles one tooth at a time

Achieve straighter and whiter teeth with porcelain veneers

Constructed from strong, high quality porcelains that closely mimic the many shades and translucencies found in natural teeth, each Dental Veneer consists of a thin porcelain shell that fits neatly over the front surfaces of your teeth. Once in position it can help create a flawless smile, specifically designed to match your preferred look.

After making a incision in the gum, each implant is placed into its precise location in the jaw bone. Once implants are in place, precision moulds are taken and then the teeth are tried in within 3 hours and then their permanent teeth are placed 24 hours later.

What Types of Problems do Porcelain Dental Veneers Fix?

  • Discoloured or stained teeth that will not respond to conventional tooth whitening treatments,
  • Minor chips or cracks to teeth, and to replace sections of teeth that have worn away,
  • To lengthen or change the shape of teeth,
  • To recontoure irregularly shaped teeth.
  • To close or minimise gaps in between teeth,
  • To correct teeth that are just slightly out of alignment and where it isn’t necessary to have orthodontic treatment.

When should Porcelain Veneers be used?

After a careful assessment, Dr Yassmin might recommend the use of Porcelain Veneers to hide a number of imperfections, such as:

  • Discoloured or stained teeth that will not respond to conventional tooth whitening treatments,
  • Minor chips or cracks to teeth, and to replace sections of teeth that have worn away,
  • To lengthen or change the shape of teeth,
  • To recontoure irregularly shaped teeth.
  • To close or minimise gaps in between teeth,

To correct teeth that are just slightly out of alignment and where it isn’t necessary to have orthodontic treatment.

How do I get Porcelain Veneers?

During your initial consultation at DFY Dental, Dr Yassmin will discuss your overall goals and assess your suitability to have Porcelain Veneers fitted.

The next appointment will be to prepare your teeth. Dental veneers are minimally invasive, but it’s usually necessary for Dr Yassmin to remove a small amount of tooth enamel from the front surfaces of your teeth. This helps ensure the finished appearance is natural and aesthetically pleasing. Once your teeth have been shaped for the veneers, an impression is taken for the dental laboratory to have them customised.

This process generally takes a couple of weeks depending on the number of veneers required. During this time we will protect your teeth with temporary veneers, providing you with a preview of your new smile!

The actual Porcelain Veneers will be fitted during your next visit. It might be necessary to make some minor adjustments to get the fit absolutely precise before they are permanently bonded in position.

Using Veneers as part of a Smile Makeover

Dental Veneers are often used in conjunction with other treatments as part of a smile makeover, including:

  • Dental Crowns,
  • Teeth Whitening procedures,
  • Invisalign teeth straightening treatment to help perfect a beautifully aligned smile.
